The Blue Mountains
The World Heritage listed Blue Mountains are a sandstone plateau with gorges and high points reaching over 1000 metres above sea level. The Blue Mountains are surrounded by spectacular national parks. The areas gets its name from the distinctive blue haze which has earned the Blue Mountains its name is evident wherever you look. This unique blue haze has been created by the rays of sunlight merging with the droplets of eucalyptus oil, dispersed from the millions of eucalyptus trees. |
